This year we're showing our "support" for Scarthin Books
Come along at 6.30 on Friday 12 June to watch or help pull Scarthin Books van up The Hill. It is rumoured there may be dragons, Batman and free beer. We're definitely joking about the free beer, although The Community Centre, The Bell and The Boat will all be happy to oblige. As well as this, you can have a great view from the Institute, half way up the Hill who are also doing refreshments....

In honour of the event, Scarthin Books have made the following press release:
"Scarthin Books, otherwise known as Starvin' Books, Bookdeelers to the Cognosenti, are overjoyed to announce that they have managed to unearth the legendary Nick Scarthin, founder of the shoppe in 1497 or thereabouts.
Accompanied by his much younger consort Kath and daughter Klare, he has agreed to steer the van this evening.
He is old enough not to have passed the driving test.
The shop has just acquired a large library of light reading and there may not be time to unload this before the pull."
