- Clarice to provide a budget.
VE DAY
- It will be the 75th anniversary of the end of World War 2 – Victory in Europe from Friday 8th- - Sunday 10th May 2020. - There will be a bar, bbq, and bands playing music.

APPLE DAY FEEDBACK
- The event went well and the weather was good. Thanks to everyone that helped on the day. It was felt that it was a good team effort. Special thanks to the Playgroup for their contributions and Ted for the PA system and music.
- The Eco Centre did not attend as they were given the wrong date.
- Snail racing was requested by some visitors for next year’s event.
- The Bow & Arrow event went well, however some Health & Safety issues need to be address if this repeated again, in the form of barriers around the target area and more supervision.
- It was noted that it has been a poor year for apples and the 3 presses where sufficient for the day.
- More planning and people are required to pack away and tidy up after events with clear instructions where everything needs to be returned to.
- Thanks to Lorraine Mountford for the kind donation.
- The event made a loss as in previous years. A total loss of £78 this year.
- It was felt that more people where needed to rattle tins next year to help with the fund raising. Larger buckets with slots were also suggested.
- Storage of banners for events is available at the Community Centre and a new supplier has been identified for any new banners required.

- It will be the 75th anniversary of the end of World War 2 – Victory in Europe from Friday 8th- - Sunday 10th May 2020. Further information to be sought on where to hold this and the cost of any potential road closure, People to provide their own food and drinks. Fancy dress would be optional. Further information can be found on www.veday75.org

Fund Raising Clarice reported, and the committee gave thanks to all the fundraising events that took place. Alistair echoed this and hoped there would be a repeat of such events in the forthcoming year, but was concerned that we could do with a few more to balance income and expenditure
Preparations for apple Day. 12th of October 12-5pm
As this is a joint venture between the book shop and CC it was agreed that the bookshop makes a contribution of £100.00
As this event runs at a loss of over £500 it is vital that contributions are made for the use of the facilities by the persons using them. Donation buckets to be actively used do encourage donations to reduce the loss.

Apologies: Russ Boyack, Ian and Sylvia Evetts, Rosie Ayliffe, Stuart McCornack, Ray Foley, David Mitchell
Music:
Lengthy discussion. Mike has lots of people interested. We decided not to have the maypole marching band. We would have music at the centre, the prom, and the Bell. We would just have the morris dancers who had volunteered to come at 5 pm. Mike, Lorraine, Paul and Dave would arange between them who played where at what times and keep Clarice up to date with the financial consequences; the budget was £700. Noted the Centre needed acts on Friday night Saturday afternoon and evening and Sunday afternooon.
Entertainment etc:
Agreed to have a pig race on the prom on Sunday late afternoon. Also agreed to invite a children's entertainer, John Pass to book, Mike Tomlinson said she was very good.
Donations:
Three requests had been received. The Centre would pay for the curtains for the Methodist Church hall (Clarice to tell Jennie Binks). CC would give £100 to the playgroup and £100 to Cromford School PTA in response to the headteacher's request for funds.

CELEBRATING CROMFORD Minutes
Tuesday 13th February 2018 Cromford Community Centre
Present: John and Clarice Pass, David Mitchell, Ray Foley, Janet Chambers, Ted Gilkin, Anne Taylor-Wilde, Sue Mosley, Clem, David Redfern, John Johnson, Rachael Walker, Mike Tomlinson.
Apologies from Ian and Sylvia Evetts, John Haynes, Martin Taylor-Wilde Russ Boyack, Lorraine Mountford, Rosie Ayliffe, Stuart McCormack.
Fell race: Ray will take over from Tony, with Tony helping. Fell race will run as before.
Music: Ted confirmed the last act to play on the 16th has been booked by Lorraine – Stuck in Second. Mike and Andy will organise the rest of the music, as already agreed, more emphasis needed regarding the two areas for music i.e. Scarthin and Community centre. D Mitchell asked what the time slots will be for music at the Community Centre? The Community Centre will pay towards the music.
Money:
200 Club account circulated showing a healthy balance currently of £4378.00.
Dan Shaw's marquee has been purchased for £500.00.
Discussion took place regarding the distribution of money raised to local good causes. D Mitchell suggested a list of previous recipients is published in the program, highlighting the purpose of Celebrating Cromford and making clear to supporters the use of the monies raised. This was agreed to be carried out this year.
The cost of the insurance was questioned, it covers up to 15 events even though we only put on two, however it is the best price and value for money available at this time.
Agreed to decide on donations to local organisations next meeting.
Anne Taylor-Wilde agreed to help sell advertising space in the program, prices to be the same as 2016. Ted or John Haynes to collate the program.
CC programme: Paul has booked the flypast. Morris dancers suggested were Ripley Green Garters and the Winster Morris Men, Ian Evetts to contact? Possible marching band again. Community Centre; Barbeque, Childrens rides, film footage about Cromford in the past, probably run on a loop, with a donation bucket out rather than an admission charge. Chapel; will do food, may have poetry this time but possibly a photographic display. Also, possibly a film again.
The school fair will go ahead.
Marketeers to organise stalls if they will. Otherwise no market.
Open gardens and pallet gardens; Pallets last years participants are all interested, no theme to be given, allow the palletteers to choose their own. Open Gardens, little interest so far, maybe an appeal for more gardens could be placed in Around the Millpond?
Dates for 2018: Plant sale 19th May outside Community Centre. CC 16th-17th June Open Gardens 8th July Garden Produce Show August 27th Apple Day October 13th Christmas Market November 24th. Next Celebrating Cromford meeting March 6th in The Boat at 19.30
